For those of you who do not know, a municipal corporation is a legal term for a local governing body, including (but not necessarily limited to) cities, counties, towns, townships, charter townships, villages, and boroughs. The term can also be used to describe municipally-owned enterprises.

Municipal corporations are self-governing bodies which administrate city or any urban area with a population of more than 1 million. Know about Noida Municipal Corporation
Noida is the highly facilitated township with bigger scope of architectural future and inviting a great commercial boon afterward. Now, Noida proceeds with sustainable development where residential, commercial and industrial facilities are provided. NOIDA is the acronym for the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority under which Noida municipality runs along with state government. The objective of the NOIDA authority is acquiring land in Uttar Pradesh under notified area instructed by UP Government with an allowance of Land Acquisition Act 1894. It also works to develop infrastructure, construction, land uses, area development, site regulations, building erection etc. The Noida Municipal Corporation additionally, monitors and controls industrial tie ups to government and provides facilities, essentials, and amenities to various industries as well as investors.
Know about Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation
Ghaziabad is another well-developed urbanized center with a superb infrastructural, educational and industrial base. There is local government administration body Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam which works for the advancement and development of the city.
Earlier Ghaziabad was administrated by governing body called Municipal board, but now it is called Municipal Corporation of Ghaziabad. Citizens also refer the governing body as Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam has categorized or separated its administration into five different zones which are like this: City Zone, Mohan Nagar Zone, Vasundhara Zone, Kavi Nagar Zone, Vijay Nagar Zone
There are 5 zones and 80 wards in Ghaziabad administration area of 210 sq.kms with a population of 17.29 lakhs according to Census 2011.
Responsibilities of Municipal Corporation
The major responsibility or functionality comes under the municipal corporation of any urban area like Noida or Ghaziabad is acting regulation of administrative authorities in various areas like infrastructure, industrialization, facilities, transport, healthcare, education, and law. They have a primary role in town planning, land allocations, and property management for the public. They maintain public places like the park, stations, bus stands, roadways etc. They are also responsible for providing citizens amenities including natural resources, water, power distribution, drainage, transport, hospitals, schools, colleges and other dozens of public concerns.
Are Municipal Corporations of Noida & Ghaziabad working?
One look around the cities Noida and Ghaziabad and it does not take a genius to realize that municipal corporations in the both of cities have failed on multiple levels. The roads are filled with potholes and garbage dumps, there are free willing animals in numbers that are reasons for a hundred accidents daily and the parks of the city are a mess too.
Clearly, the Municipal Corporation bodies in both these cities need to wake up from their slumber and us as informed citizens of the city need to take a note of their address and demand they performed what they are appointed for.
