Noida and Greater Noida as the NCR are still an upcoming part. With a host of new events that are urging the city dwellers to not underestimate this region, there is one event that has been on the active radar for almost a decade now. This year ‘Pushpotsav- Festival of Flowers”, is being held from 15th-17th of March 2019, at Mihir Bhoj City Park, Greater Noida.
The flower festival is a joint initiative of the GNIDA ( Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority) and the Floriculture Society Of Noida. The flower exposition has been extended to Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida and Greater Noida. The other NCR regions saw the festival open to enthusiastic flower freaks and connoisseurs and professionals in the field of floriculture.
The theme of the exposition is ‘Marigold’. The flower has been a standard offering in temples and during festivals, because of which this particular species has attained religious and cultural relevance. The annual event provides a platform to nature lovers and gardening enthusiasts. It also gives an opportunity to residents of Noida-Greater Noida and nearby areas to enjoy the weekend with family and friends amidst the abundance of nature. Besides plants and floral displays some recreational activities are also planned on the sidelines.
This year, the Flower festival will see Corporate houses, hotels, clubs, schools and group housing societies being enterprisingly participative at Pushpotsav. There will be garden competitions in various categories, on-the-spot display competitions and much more. The end of the festival will see prizes distributed amongst the winners. The flower stalls will also be ranked and awarded prizes for best maintenance and management. Show timings for the days will be 10am-8pm.
One highlight of this exuberant festival will be the distribution of 500 plants , to the children participating in the event….. free of cost. This is in congruence with the efforts of the authority towards raising awareness about the importance and necessity of flora in our surroundings.
And might I add, this one is a must visit. A fantastic way to indulge kids in something worthwhile, while you refresh your demeanour towards it.
