ERNAKULAM ZONE (MARINE DRIVE | HILL PALACE | KOTHAMANGLAM)

Kothambari has a  great ambience, food served here is also in tune with the autheticity of South Indian cuisine and culinary experience. Some of the most popular dishes here are mutton biryani, meals, porotta, chilli chicken and the beef fry. The mutton Biriyani Meals are good and the fish curry that they provide along with it is simply superb. The chilli chicken here is a typical Kerala derivative of the Chinese dish but the porotta is class act.

Drop down here for lunch. Few of the crowd favorites include Cream of Chicken Soup, Butter Naan, Kerala Porotta and Kozhi Narachu Porichathu. Starting with the soup, it is quite good as is the Naan. The Porotta is even better. The highlight of their meals is the Kozhi Narachu Porichathu. The chicken is fried crisp but tasty and the stuffing is packed with flavour. It is super filling and more than sufficient for 2 persons. End the meal with some refreshing Lime Juice. Ali Baba is a pretty good restaurant with prompt service, a decent ambience and lots of seating though.

If you're in Kochi, a visit to this restaurant is a must. The bakery, per se is separate from the restaurant - they are right on the side of MG Road. The most popular orders are veg clear soup and cream of chicken soup, both of which were impeccably done without being overly spicy or bordering on bland. The others include noodles, Karimeen Fry, Chicken Masala, rotis and the fabled Porottas of this resto. Needless to say, you won't be disappointed. The food was as authentically Kerala as one they come. You shall leave with satiated bellies and minds.

The location of the restaurant is excellent - in what looks to have been an old colonial mansion with great courtyard, nice settings and atmospheric dining area. The menu can cater for all tastes, from adventurous members of the party who want to try some local fish curries to the more conservative, European travelers. Handy for a group with a mix of all! The restaurant staff are efficient, polite and attentive without being overbearing. The food comes in reasonable time, and is of high standard. The desserts are good but not a standout strong point, but the mains involved interesting mixes of Indonesian, Keralan and European cuisines.

They have specialised in yummy chicken fry. The recipe is their own and that makes them different. They have originated from trivandrum a very casual place in the heart of chala market. They provide spicy baby chicken fry and liver fry along with chapathi and ghee rice. To cope up with the spicychicken they give ulimited lime juice as well. A definite try for bachelors and families. Their new place is near to changambuzha park edappally.
