For the first time ever in India, Elle & Vire brings for you a competition to hunt for The Junior Pastry Chef in India. This competition will select among the best to represent Indian team at Junior Pastry World Cup 2017 in Italy. The Indian selection competition is open to all pastry professional, pastry/bakery students currently enrolled in culinary related institutions or training centers in India.
The event is being organized by BAKERY REVIEW published by hammer Publishers in association with Rimini Fiera, Italy (organiser of SIGEP show) & Academy of Pastry Arts India Gurgaon. The Leela Ambience Hotel, Gurgaon is the hospitality partner for the event.
Participation in the competition is open to pastry citizens from India under 23 years of age (and therefore born after 21 January 1994).. The theme of the competition is “Planet Fantasy”. The event allows leading young pastry chefs to showcase their talents by creating advanced dessert and chocolate bonbon recipes exhibited along with highly technical sugar and chocolate sculpted showpieces.
Competitors will be judged on Artistic expression and technical skill,Professional ethics and hygiene and taste.There are strict guidelines and parameters on which the chefs will be judged at every stage.
The competition will be judged by top jury which includes Chef Avijit Ghosh, Corporate Pastry Chef-Hotel LeelaVentures Ltd, Chef Ranveer Brar, TV Show host and food stylist, Chef Parvinder Singh Bali,Corporate Chef Learning and Development-The Oberoi centre of learning and development,Nikesh Kumar Sharma,Managing Director Academy of Pastry Arts India,Malaysia and Phillipines.

About SIGEP: It is an International exhibition in which different cultures and food traditions meet and share and exchange projects. It is a place to facilitate global networking with pastry and gelato world.In the 38th edition of SIGEP in 2016, around 150 countries had participated and over one lakh visitors visited the grand show. It also hosted around 500 events on various themes. SIGEP 2017 expects another 8% increase in visitors.
