The best thing about the whole of South India is undeniably its tiffins or rather breakfast options. The idlis, vadas, upamas and the dosas served along with a wide range of chutneys and sambhars are world famous! I don’t think there’s anybody who dislikes these scrumptious delicacies. Just the thought of a crisp butter dosa drenched in sambar or the steamed idly that’s hot and just off the stove can make your mouth water! (I’m drooling while writing this by the way!) Whether we prepare these at home or have it outside, they can never get boring. I have easily lived on dosas, making it an all-day-breakfast option several numbers of times; and I guess we all have without complaining. The city has various outlets and tiffin centers that are open through the day and some open late night continuing till morning hours. And the best part is the stalls are crowded with people even during late night hours. Here’s a list of some of the popular tiffin centers in Hyderabad that you can visit anytime.
One of our bloggers dedicated an entire article just for Pragathi tiffin centre because that’s how popular they are! Who can resist the finger licking butter paneer dosa!? The idly and the chutney served there is one of the best too. Extremely pocket friendly as it’s hard core street food and is open from 8am to 8pm.

By now every single Hyderabadi knows the immense popularity of this place so I’ll just skip the introduction. The stuff to try here are the double cheese dosa, special pizza dosa and the butter upama. Yes please forget your extra calorie worries at home as you’re gonna be gaining a lot of them! Milkshakes and fresh fruit juices are served here as well.

They serve the most irresistible melt in the mouth butter idlis! And the dosas are delicious too. My cousin during one of his wedding ceremonies had opted for their catering service. They had a live station for dosas and idlis. And boy what a hit it was with the wedding crowd! Lassi was served as well post dinner and no one realized or even missed having their regular meals.

Another most visited place for good south indian tiffins is Poorna tiffin centre that’s located at Yousufguda. The ghee idly and the upma dosa and upma pesarattu are a must try here. The place is quite shabby but if you can ignore that and just enjoy on some good breakfast then nothing like it!

Located in mehdipatnam, this tiny little place that started on a bandi around a decade ago is well known for serving delicious dosas, puris, upma, idly and vada. You have a few other options such as egg noodles and Manchuria etc available on the menu too.
