This is how I usually wish everyone during the month of Ramzan because of the undying love i have for it! I have not met anybody personally who dislikes this extraordinary delicacy, barring my husband who claims to dislike it but ends up having quite a few spoon fulls when it’s lying on the table or when all his senses spring into action while it’s hidden in the refrigerator! Well that’s what haleem does to you and we just don’t mind at all. There are a few places in the city where this delicious dish is sold throughout the year but you get the actual kick of it only during the ramzan period. The crowds gathering near various restaurants every single evening is a sight you don’t want to miss! So WUH brings you some of the most popular places that serve this mouth-watering fare.
Well this place is undoubtedly the best when it comes to some authentic hyderabadi fare. We all know of the famous biryani, paya etc here, so how can they lack in serving a plate of mazedaar haleem!? Come here and treat your taste buds to the best haleem in the city and you won’t regret it!
Where: Near High Court Road, Opp Madina Circle, Charminar, Hyderabad
Another popular place in the city since ages has recently opened an outlet in Gachibowli that has gone down well with the IT crowd. It’s good that one doesn’t have to travel all the way till old city or tolichowki to get some of their delicious haleem.
Address 1: Syed Ali Chabutra, Shalibanda Road, Charminar, Hyderabad
Address 2: Opposite SA Imperial Gardens, Near RTA Office, Tolichowki, Hyderabad
Address 3: Opposite Bio Diversity Park, Raidurgam, Gachibowli, Hyderabad
Please visit the original places that are located at old city, Tolichowki and Nampally where the haleem is freshly made and is totally worth a visit. Try not to buy from the other various outlets that are spread across the city during this entire month. It tastes decent but you never know the freshness of it as I personally had a few bad experiences tasting stale stuff in those tiny boxes!
Address 1: Opposite Esra Hospital, Shalibanda Road, Charminar, Hyderabad
Address 2: Yousufain Dargah Road, Bazarghat, Nampally, Hyderabad
Address 3: Opposite R.T.A Office, Yousuf Tekri Complex, Tolichowki, Hyderabad
The haleem here is smooth and absolutely divine which is popularly known to be served during the midnight buffet. The ambiance and the surroundings being delightful (obviously it’s a star hotel) one has to forget the prices as they are slightly higher than the other places. But you certainly will not regret going all the way for some wonderful haleem.
Where: Tulips, Greenlands, Begumpet, Hyderabad
Try the amazing irani haleem that’s made out of wheat and mutton. We’ve been religiously gorging on this since many years and they never disappoint.
Where: Opposite Care Hospital, Road 11, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad
I’ve earlier mentioned in one of my articles about the scrumptious fish biryani here but they surely don’t lag behind in serving some incredibly tasty haleem as well.
Where: Old MLA Quarters, Hyderguda, Basheer Bagh, Hyderabad
We as a family have been regular customers to this place as mom lives close by and is a famous landmark for us to mention to the auto and taxi walas! Mutton biryani and butter chicken along with the famous paya were our must haves every other weekend. We preferred ordering from home because the restaurant’s ambience is nothing to rave about. I would anxiously wait for the ramzan season to begin so that I could get some from here. The only hitch is though the haleem’s deliciously good, a lot of unwanted bones come along with it.
Where: Beside Government Hospital, Nalgonda Cross Roads, Chanchalguda, Officers Colony, New Malakpet, Hyderabad
This place in Masabtank serves various kinds of haleem that leave you awestruck! And the most popular version of their menu is the haleem served with chicken 65 on top! Try it to believe it!
