Gurgaon has got almost everything now! Every Cuisine? Check. Cultural scene? Check. Malls to shop? Check. Nearby Getaways? Check. Now, with money in pocket and aspirations in mind, there are a myriad of places to explore in this futuristic city, but what about things that one can do for free?
Someone rightly said… Best things in life are Free … So Here’s what this ‘cool’ city has on offer, when you’re in no mood to spend those bucks:
Aravalli Biodiversity Park & Leisure Valley
With over 1,000 different types of plants, 190 species of birds, 90 kinds of butterflies and over a lakh species of insects and reptiles, this eco hub of Gurgaon is a nature and wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.
Home to reptiles such as monitor lizards, snakes, chameleons and mammals like jackals, blue bulls, porcupines and others, the Aravalli Biodiversity Park highlights an orchard, a butterfly garden, a fernery and a medicinal plants conservator. Spend the day cycling or rambling through the park, bird watching or you could join some groups that meet up there for hiking or cycling activities on weekends. Watch for cultural activities held there (usually winters or spring).
Similarly, Leisure Valley Park at Sector 29 is one place that lets you witness lush greenery, quietude, serenity and tranquility all around. No wonder, you will see a lot of nature lovers here who want to spend some quite time in nature’s lap. It is also a preferred spot for many musical concerts and happening parties that take place in the city.

Cyber Hub is the coolest and finest dining and entertainment destination in Gurgaon for corporates, families and kids alike. With its striking international design, open space architecture, well planned, laidback ambience, it reminisces of a Clarks Quay in Singapore, minus the river and colourful buildings. The hub is always humming with activity, with some of the top names in food and entertainment industry that offer a choice of amazing dining and beverage options.
The open air amphitheatre here plays host to weekend cultural & art shows and rock concerts that happen for free of cost. Enthusiasts or fans gather together and enjoy the festivals that keep happening every now & then.

Visit a monument or temple
Gurgaon doesn’t boast an array of tombs and monuments like Delhi, but there are still a few good sites where you can get your cultural game on. Temples include the impressive Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Temple & Aliwardi Masjid. For monuments we have the Farrukh Nagar Fort & Qutub Khan’s tomb.
One must see all of these, and, of course, there are no charges.
