The drive on the stretch between Sahara Mall and Westin is about to get adorned. With the pollution levels becoming a constant resident of the city, the city is in dire need of respite. The answer to all pollution problems is to Go Green! Amongst the expanding concrete jungle in Gurgaon, a breather is welcome. Vertical Gardens are trending in Gurgaon and a new stretch gets revamped!
If you have travelled along the Mall Mile, you must have caught the men at work on the metro pillars starting from Sahara Mall towards City Centre. The men I am referring to are the gardeners deployed to get this stretch it’s due greenery,
The Mall Mile (Sahara Mall, MGF Metropolitan Mall up till Plaza Mall) has been under the radar of the cops due to the notorious Sahara Mall junkies. But this development should add some decent glam to the stretch.
There are 8 pillars, to begin with, that have been set with iron bases to be planted with the vertical garden. Out of these, 2 vertical gardens have already been planted. Along with the pillars, the center portion of the divider is also slated to get the green revamp.
These vertical gardens are likely to be installed on the Metro pillars located along the Golf Course Road-Cyber City stretch and Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road-Huda City Centre stretch, as well as on the pillars of flyovers at Subash Chowk. Further, the civic body will coordinate with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to install these at key junctions — Shankar Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Signature Towers, Rajiv Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk — on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
Some of the corporate buildings in the city have also contributed to the Green cover through vertical gardens.
Little bits of heaven!
