Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon or MCG was formed in 2008 keeping in mind the growing need for a formal civic structure in Gurgaon. As per Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, the Governor of Haryana declared the constitution of Municipal Council of Gurgaon in June 08’.

New Gurgaon has witnessed sudden boom of population. With the advent of MNCs and IT companies in large numbers, the city has experienced an unplanned growth of population.
