One of the many festivals that keep the state of Haryana in a festive and joyous spirit is the Haryana Festival or Haryana Day. This day is celebrated to commemorate the day when the state of Haryana was carved out of Punjab in 1966. This year in 2019, the 52nd Haryana Day will be celebrated all over the state on 1st November. The event is to be held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium.
Prime Minister Narender Modi was in Gurgaon on November 1, 2016 for state's golden jubilee celebrations. Apart from Narender Modi, the event was attended by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, 3,000 VIPs and 800 VVIPs. Overall the event is expecting to witness a crowd of over 50,000.
Given the high-profile visit, the police and the administration had taken no chances and made elaborate security arrangements for the day. Beautification drives are also going on in many places.
Some of the event highlights were water laser show, light and sound shows, pakwan pratiyogita, musical performances, cycle rallies, blood donation camps and other Run for Fun events.
All the state complexes and buildings will also be brightly lit up and decorated. There would also be various kinds of contests held to add some flavor to the Haryana Day. People will participate actively and enthusiastically in the contests, races and other methods of celebrations.
