Donate through Facebook: Clothes Box Foundation

Clothes Box Foundation, a not-for-profit organization was started by two young residents of Gurgaon. The foundation promotes donation of clothes and makes it very convenient for the donors to reach out to the needy people. To give the assurance of clothes being reached in the right hands, CBF also posts the picture of the recipient on their facebook page..

Gurgaon loves to donate, and so does its youth. The response to this social media lead donating has come out to be highly acceptable by the public. The group, with just Facebook as a medium has spread like wild fire in a very short span. A foundation which started with just two people in Gurgaon has grown up to a team of more than 70 volunteers in different cities of the country. These volunteers are not just spread extensively in various parts of NCR but also in cities like Bhopal, Chandigarh, Assam, Bhubaneswar, Silokhera, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Agartala and Ambala. The best part about the group is that it is more popular amongst the age group of 18-24 years. About this, one of the CBF founder Sajan Abrol says that, “I feel any initiative taken up by the youngsters in our country has to meet the reason it started for, because the youth of the country are tomorrow’s change makers and if they are self influenced towards that change, nothing in the world can be more transformative and with this idea we started CBF”. In further conversation with the co-founder, he told us that he, along with his team have been able to help over 19000 people and have donated over 24000 clothes in 23 months.

The young volunteers working for CBF are so motivated and self driven that the whole task goes on really smooth. Here is how the complete procedure takes place:

Step1: The person willing to donate clothes messages CBF on their fb page-

Step2: The donor drops the clothes at the nearest Clothes Box Foundation donation centre.

Step3: The clothes are assembled at one place from where the sorting and segregation is done.

Step4: The clothes are taken further to reach the needful. Each piece of cloth is distributed one by one as per the sizes.

Step5: A picture is clicked of the cloth with the tag in the hand of the needful and is posted on the facebook page.
