Big Boyz Lounge, The biggest restobar in the millenium city, opens its doors and we are gung ho about it! it is an entirely new space that defines its own unique style of a casual, classic lounge and bar. With a multi global kitchen and some head banging innovative cocktails on the menu, the place has climbed its way to great reviews and popularity.
The name itself gives the place away, it spells ‘big’ in the true sense of the word, in terms of size, Spread over two floors, with a terrace seating area to boast of. The interiors speak ‘crisp and slick’, with a dash of opulence lent by its entrance. The lower floor exudes space in its classiest sense. The seating is strategically spread across it with the biggest dance floor in the city set right in the midst. If you’re lucky enough to get a seat by the window, the view of the city is mesmerising! We were! The open bar. set at the far end of the floor, is nothing short of glamorous either.
As we moved to the upper floor, the machismo vibes set in. The most eye catching piece of decor has to be the Ford Army jeep stationed on the floor, lending the place an andric aura. Extremely ingenious! The terrace sitting area, with its own bar, is called “Air Bar”, aptly so by virtue of the area assigned and the decor that reeks of effervescence.
Once we took our place by the window, we ordered our first drink, Morning Glory, Green tea infused vodka mixed with fresh cucumber, Cranberry juice & a hint of Elder flower, as suggested by the very hospitable, Inderjit Kalsi, the bar manager. The drink, innovation at its best, had my brownie points, for it being served most innovatively, with green tea smoke.
My colleaugue ordered the Red Ocean, a mocktail with fresh watermelon chunks, orange, mint mixed with minty masala, again a drink that completely impressed for its fusion. Their Uncle Jalapeno, a tequila based cocktail with passion fruit and pineapple juice, took the cake hands down, served in a mini LPG cylinder, caught my fancy for sure! Fascinating and unconventional, full marks for the presentation.
The innovative streak was evident in their food menu as well. The chief Chef Sumit Kalra, was kind and hospitable enough to help us out with the menu. Chef Karan’s Innovative Broccoli Shammi Kabab, was pure culinary excellence, Served with beetroot mayonnaise, mint chutney and Aam papad, a fusion of completely varied flavours, blended in surprisingly, perfectly. Next came in the Besan Chilla roll, another culinary delight that was light on the appetite yet the right fill.
The interlude ended with what i call, their most prolific dish on the menu. Chilly Chocolate chicken with chilly Truffle (chicken breast stuffed with chilly flakes and chocolate serve with spicy sauce)!
They say ”You eat with your eyes first”, and Big Boyz Lounge, takes this forward by taking their presentation resolutely. There could be no epilogue sans the taste of their “Paan shoot Phirni”, true to its name, had the Beetel flavour, cleverly infused while balancing the sweetness and the flavour.
With names like Desi Lava, Kaala Jaadu, Taal se taal Milake Khao, Chakna with Makhna and Zindagi Ka Mazaa Khatte Mein Hai, in the menu, they have created an inquisitiveness and adventure around it, nudging the customers to get on a creative gastronomical encounter.
Big Boyz Lounge endorses the classic perception of a lounge, bar and restaurant. If you’re looking for a place for rendezvous with the right amount of fun, food, music and drinks, we emphatically recommend the place. Add to that, the spate of events they hold through the week, will keep your evenings plenteous. This is a tryst that spells encore!
