Curry Laksa with Udon Noodles at Monk
A great place to appease your soup cravings! And this is not just soup, it’s a meal in itself! Gurgaon’s favourite Pan-Asian joint, and an old favourite, Monk offers four soups, but it is their bowls of soupy noodles where they shine. The Curry Laksa with Udon Noodles in Singaporean Style is a knock-out, while they have six other veg and non-veg options with flat rice noodles, wheat noodles or rice noodles to choose from.

Spicy meat dishes form the backbone of Kashmiri cuisine. Some of the dishes that you must try are Maaz yakhni (meat in a curd-based sauce made mildly minty with fennel), rogan josh (rich, red mutton curry), gushtaba (pale meatballs in saffron-yogurt curry), rista (meatballs in a Spinach and red gravy) and gulp them down with Zafraan Qahwa (Saffron tea garnished with Almond slices). It is so rich that you cannot have it any other time but in winter.

Lamb Shank braised in Red Wine at The Joint Café
The Joint Café makes it on our list for their heady stews. They do have some classic soups too. However their stews are perfect winter-time concoctions. Think of rushing in from the cold for a steaming plate of Lamb Shank braised in Red Wine ( Lamb braised in Bordelaise Wine and smeared with butter) or their Slow Roast Pork Shoulder.

The Mix Grill Sizzler at Bisque
A cozy café serving the best sizzlers, steaks, soups and much more. On a gloomy winter day, a sizzler is a guaranteed pick-me-up. We love the Cottage Cheese sizzler at Bisque. The show stopper though is The Mix Grill Sizzler. It contains chicken sausages, grilled chicken, chicken salami, all loaded in the creamy peanut butter sauce made with the juices from the pan in which the meat is cooked. Served on a bed of vegetables, a side of crispy potato wedges and two slices of grilled bread to dip in the sauce. Slurp!
