Having lived in Gurgaon for 18 years now, I have witnessed the city turn the ‘rags to riches’ story into reality. Gurgaon is a surprise every single day. the moment you comply to the fact that the city has reached its saturation, there comes another googly! The hospitality business owes a lot of its success to the creative brains behind the bars, pubs and lounges. The unique menus, names and presentation maybe to attract attention, but they are working! Quirk doesn’t even begin here…. so, to share some first hand experiences, I present to you some of the most quirky cocktails in Gurgaon.

Modi vs Mamta @Ardor 29

If you’re from the quirky yet nerdy school of thought, this is your rendezvous! The menu design sets the tone of what entails within it…. This is probably the only time when I saw myself avidly, scouring through the witty drink and food menu! One that stood out was Modi vs Mamta, their dual cocktail combo, served as Modi, a heady but sweet, smooth mix of JD and honey… and Mamta, smoky whisky based, infused with exotic juices…. sour overpowering the sweet.

NCR @Together At 12th

quirky cocktails in Gurgaon

The warm and breezy cheerfulness about Together at 12th is exuded on the walls, as part of the decor and choice of music, and of course, in the carefully-crafted food and drinks menu. The cocktails take inspiration from significant moments like your first date, the times of train journeys, reunions or coffee breaks in between work. Our favourite is NCR, made using ingredients from all around the country, in much the same way that the National Capital Region has people and cultures from all over the country. NCR has kahwa tea from Kashmir, kokum from Konkan and Karnataka and is served in a beautiful bamboo-wood glass from the Northeast of India. You could even call this drink India!
