The Birla Institute of Management Technology witnessed a making of The largest coffee cup pyramid ever made with 23821 CUPS. The entire team of 12 people toiled hard for close to 48 hours, before achieving this feat. They assembled each cup by hand. The main assembly act took close to 21 nonstop hours. The previous world record was of 22140 cups that was made by the Germans.
It started with the passion to create something unique out of something very ordinary. The idea started over coffee conversations, changed into a mission and finally a reality. Naman Kumar, PGDM batch 2016-18 spearheaded this whole project, it was his second such attempt, he already has one such record feather on his cap.
The team including 10 boys and 2 girls were a balanced team that shared the same passion and being management students they showed essential ingredients of successful implementation that is team work, consistency, quick problem solving which led them to this grand achievement.
The whole project was completed on 26th September 2016 around 7:00am in the morning. The college Director Dr . H . Chaturvedi showed immense support and the team was mentored by Dean of Student Welfare , Mr. K R Chari .
Now Guinness book of world records have confirmed that world record attempt was successful. They have updated their website with 1 more record made by India.
This was truly officially amazing and made in India by Indians 🙂
