The wait for nation’s first luxury cruise is nearing an end. From October, you will get to sail from Bombay-to-Goa. While most people prefer to fly to Goa or travel overnight on an inter-state bus, the luxury cruise is set to add the new feature to the tourism. So, here we are to make you aware of what’s up for grab, and how you can avail the ferry to Goa’s famous feni:
Angriya, as the ship is named after first Maratha Navy Admiral (Sarkhel) Kanhoji Angre and Angria Bank coral reef near Vijaydurg in Maharashtra, will be able to accommodate around 400 passengers at a times. The cruise will be operated on alternate days from either Mumbai or Goa. One can board the cruise at Victoria Dock, Mazgaon.
Now the most important thing. There will be seven categories of bookings and the minimum fare is set at INR 7,500 for a person. In total, the ship will have over 100 cabins across categories.
Why is it called a luxury?
There are eight types of restaurants on the deck, along with around-the-clock coffee shops, a recreation room and a fancy lounge, a discotheque and a spa. Besides these, one can dive into the swimming pool on the deck.
And don’t forget the amazing view. The non-stop cruise will offer the best of the Western Ghats and Konkan range.
How much time will it take to sail?
It will begin its journey at around 5pm and will take around 15 hours to reach its destination.
Hopping into an overnight Volvo will charge you anywhere around INR 1,200-2,500, while the airfare is INR 3,000 during non-peak season. The fare of best in class train Tejas is also around INR 2,600.
Well, the price is certainly on the higher side. But it would be an experience of a lifetime, for sure. Get, set, sail…
