Delhi and street food are synonymous. Found in every corner of the city and all of that at a very reasonable price, street food is almost a staple comfort food. From Chaats to pani puris to chole bhature to kebabs to the lip smacking dessert, we find it all on the streets of Delhi.
One such place is owned by Dalchand Kashyap, specializing in Chaat… or now most famously known as “Netflix wale bhaiya”. You can spot him as “Sohan Lal Dalchand Mangla Chaat Wale” otherwise known as “Mangla Chaat Wale”, opposite Agarwal bikaneri sweets, Bhagyawan Apartments, Mayur Vihar,Mayur Vihar phase -1.
Dalchand inherited this skill from his grandfather who also sold Chaat in Delhi back in his time. His chaats are worth a mention not just locally, but he now stands as an epitome of a street to star journey. Having won National Award for food safety, Dalchand is a legend in his field.
His hard work paid off when the Netflix show “Street Food” telecasted his journey. It is where some of the legendary chefs from across the continent try out the delicacies from small food joints and stalls which are delectable and very pocket friendly. Dalchand got his golden opportunity at this point of time. He turned a star… overnight! He was then recognized as the “Netflix wale bhaiya”. He has been invited to many countries including Turkey, Sydney, US, for food festivals where he represented the country with our all-time favorite Aloo Chaat.
Dalchand put Indian Street food on the map of the world’s top food. East Delhi, you have a feather in your cap!
