This one sure is one hell of a surprise package!

Fagu is a tiny village aside a saddle-like mountain along Hindustan Tibet Road. a small hill town in the Kufri region of Shimla, it is dotted bylittle stone walled houses and lush greens. A rare range of views is visible from here, which include vivid dales and snow clad peaks. The picturesque countryside is dotted with clusters of villages, fruit gardens and nearby terraced fields. Fog characterises the hillside landscape endowed with romantic ambience. Most of the area is covered with conifers of Himalayan cedar and spruce. Located at an altitude of 2,450 m, Fagu, perhaps have derived its name from the fog itself.

My gem from the list, Jilling is home to streams of flowers, quaint hilltop dwellings, charming locals and experiential stays dating back to 1870s, dotted with lines of plums and Kafal berries, bringing back the joys of picking from the shrubs! This estate , above Matial village, Padampur, District Nainital, is over 120 acres of oak and rhododendron heaven. With a rich and varied wildlife, thick forests and fresh spring water, the estate at Jilling is heaven on earth, thankfully still one of the few unexplored regions.
