It’s winter and the right time to gorge on Sarson Da Saag. Sarson Ka Saag is a heart-warming dish traditionally from Punjab that has won the heart of millions beyond the borders of Punjab. It is made with mustard greens and spices and usually paired up with Makke ki Roti. If you are in the city of Chandigarh you definitely should head out to these places to experience this exotic Desi dish with a Desi Tadka.

Gurbax Dhaba

Gurbax Dhaba is every vegetarian’s go to eatery. With delightful dishes at a very pocket friendly price one would not want to miss trying their food out. It has a basic restaurant look with a remarkable hospitality. The service is quick. The place can be a little congested, but one can always have the food delivered. Not only do they serve a good dish of Sarson Ka Saag with Makke ki Roti but they are also very famous for their Dal dishes.

Pakwan Meal is a broke’s delight. This place is often filled with college students. With a good quality food at an extremely cheap rate, it cannot get better than that. It is a small food joint serving vegetarian dishes only and they serve some really good Sarson Ka Saag. The taste is good and the amount of spices used is perfect.

Sethi Dhaba is the solution for those who have a 24*7 hunger pangs. They serve food all round the clock. Authentic dishes of Punjab is what marks their name on the map. Not only that, they also have singers performing live music on the weekends. This place has a Punjabi village touch to the décor which just goes along with the food and the music perfectly. The ambience is very Desi and it is a fun place to be at. The staff is quite co-operative too. If you are on road from Delhi to Chandigarh, this place is hard to miss.

Katani Dhaba

Katani Dhaba is yet another eatery serving authentic Punjabi dishes. This place is a delight to the vegetarians. It serves all three meals of the day starting from breakfast. The place is hygienic and well maintained and they have a prompt service. They have a simple interior. The place is usually crowded and home delivery is preferred. Given the fame they have earned their outlets are spread across the city.

Located in the middle of the Sector 28 market Pal Dhaba is quite busy any given day. The see a rush like no one else. Not only the mango people but this place is often visited by celebrities as well. That is how well known this dhaba is for their Sarson Ka Saag. With authentic Punjabi food on your table you would care about nothing else in the world. Whether it is the quality or the quantity you will not be disappointed at any cost. They have jaggery placed in the table as a part of the welcome for the guests, “Muh meetha”. They have a very welcoming staff and the food is Lajawab.

Deluxe Dhaba

Deluxe Dhaba is non vegetarian’s paradise. This place is known to have had the privilege of hosting Stephen Harper, the former Canadian Prime Minister along with his team for lunch. Since then this place has marked its name on the map. Although their signature dish is non vegetarian but they make an absolute lip smacking Sarson ka Saag that would make you forget everything else. It is a must try when you are here and since we have the perfect season there is no excuse to say no to it. The place has both quality and quantity boxes checked.

Swarn Dhaba specialized in meals that would remind you of home. It is now being taken care by the fourth generation of the Singh family. This place is extremely pocket friendly. The menu is not vast, and the food is relishing. They have a no meat day on Tuesdays otherwise this place is a haven to the non-vegetarians. A simple looking restaurant offering great food has also gained the attention of the celebrities.
