Located 50kms from Bengaluru, Nandi Hills is a stretch of hills which has become a heavy favourite with the ones looking out for weekend camping. The place has acquired itsr name from the tall statue dedicated to the Lord Nandi built on the top of the hills. The mesmerizing mix of high hills and deep valleys lets you get through a perfect weekend camping. Ramanagara night camping is bound to be an overwhelming experience for the travelers. The adventure camp is mainly famous for all the adrenaline-inducing activities that are conducted here. Located at a brief expanse of 60 km from Bangalore, this campsite is perfectly placed amidst lush green forests. Kanakpura camping is a highlight for outdoor games, indoor games, rain dance and rural experiences. Camping here just brings you one step closer to nature.
Situated at Manchinbele lakeside, the Manchinbele reservoir is a dream ground for backwater camping. Take in all the region has to offer with water sports like kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and raft building. A 3-hour hike including obstacle river crossing is a boost to the camping regime. Bananthi Betta, located mid-way between Konanadoddi and Kyathanahalli, is one of the offbeat camping places near Bangalore. The place is bordered by lush green hillocks and an unknown stream let flowing down slope. The untouched beauty and biodiversity of the surroundings ensure a peaceful retreat. Bananthimari Betta gets its name from the Devi Temple situated at the base. The coarse granite rocky boulders offer the perfect grip to trek and hike and while hiking chat up with the villagers climbing up with the firewood or tending to their livestock. Savandurga is the largest monolithic hill in the world and is positioned just 35 kilometers from Bangalore which offers remarkable camping. Located on the Ramanagaram-Magadi Road, the picturesque location of Savandurga is known for granite cliffs and caving adventure. Appropriate for adventure sports and corporate team building activities, Savandurga is an ideal place for one-day camping near Bangalore. Trekking in Savandurga is an exciting experience as it is home to the most interesting trekking trails. It is part of the granite hill range and are patronized by pilgrims who come to visit the Savandi Veerabhadreshwara Swamy and Narasimha Swamy temple sited at the foothills. Anthargange, which is often referred as the Kashi of South, gets its name from the perennial spring that is located on one of the hills, which emerges from a small crevice. This place is a part of Shatha Shrunga mountain range and comprises of rocky outcrops that are ideal for camping, trekking & mountain hiking. And the series of caves formed out of volcanic rocks here is a unique offering. The experience at Anthargange cave takes you back to prehistoric times, where you finally could be a Cave Man. This campsite is a little piece of paradise merely 2 hours away from Bangalore city. Nestled amid the hills of Krishnagiri, Nachikuppam is a quaint site for forest camping near Bangalore. The place overlooks a picturesque lake and offers amazing tent accommodation, make-shift kitchen accompanied by captivating adventurous activities. Some of the camps are powered by solar energy. There is also an ancient temple on the hilltop and numerous mango farms around the campsite. Local food, campfire and star gazing combine to be the simplest yet everlasting camping memories around the city.
